Light Bulb Experiment – Glass Render

Light Bulb Experiment – Glass Render

Software: Fusion360
Design Time: 2 Hours
Render Time: 2.5 Hours

I wanted to design a product which was simple and elegant, so I choose an energy efficient light bulb. The light bulb has three main materials. A matte white finish with a spiral swirl in the centre of an elegant prism of glass.

The render process has been set with a grey back with a reasonably light room to allow you to see the shadow of the solid bulb, but also allows you to see the shape of the glass with interfering with the energy efficient centre.  The process was quite tricky, because of the glass component, to overcome this I adjusted the material refraction level, decreased the reflective level and the roughness/texture level.
